River White Granite
River White is a beautiful white granite which is quarried in Tamil Nadu, India. This granite has an off-white background with light grey mineral veins across the surface. The most notable feature of this stone is the large amount of rose mineral deposits1 scattered across the slab (this effect can be seen in the image above).
The use of River White brings a smooth light feel. This has the effect of making any room it is situated in to appear bigger. Below you can see River White granite in slab form, notice how the overall colour of the slab is an off-white, with any most the grey mineral veins2 being very light in colour.
And of course, the trademark beautiful rose mineral deposits. These mineral deposits are normally between 1 and 2 centimetres in diameter. Although on some occasions they can be as large as 4 centimetres.
The off-white bedrock3 of this granite (the background) will take up most of the slabs colour with the veining and mineral deposits taking up about 25% of the total slab. With River White, there is little variation between slabs, with the bedrock(background) being almost always being the same shade of off-white. The differences which can occur are the density and amount of rose mineral deposits and the shade of the grey mineral veining.
The most common application of River White granite is in the construction of granite worktops. We believe for kitchen countertops the best use of this granite is in combination with light coloured units in rooms with plenty of natural light. This granite can also be seen used in various type of furniture including white granite dining tables. River White is one of the most beautiful white granites available ideal for any project especially when a smooth light feel is desired.
